Research Review Specialist
Reporting to the Director, Research and Innovation, the primary responsibility of the Research Review Specialist is to support Mitacs’s Research Review Officers and their Managers in maintaining the timely review of applications submitted to Mitacs’s various programs.
Responsibilities:
Review proposals submitted under the Globalink program:
Apply adjudication criteria in a consistent manner to inform funding decisions and ensure completion of reviews according to service standards.
Support the operations of the Quality in Research and Innovation team:
Complete and update reviewer profiles in Mitacs’s peer review database to support the effective identification of subject matter experts for proposals that require peer review.
Assist with coordinating quality assurance review audits for proposals that have received Mitacs funding.
Assist with documenting information to inform various aspects of Mitacs’s review process.
Other tasks, as required.

Ability to work through ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and comfortable with change.
Executes tasks to a high standard with attention to detail.
Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a distributed, virtual team setting.
Adheres to Mitacs values.
Required Skills and Expertise:
PhD level research experience is required (completed PhD is preferred). Priority will be given to applicants with expertise in Artificial Intelligence.
Strong oral and written communication skills in English (required), in French (asset).
Exceptional critical thinking, problem solving, and time management skills.
Ability to grasp topics across a wide range of academic disciplines, and to clearly synthesize and communicate complex information to those who are not subject matter experts.

Hiring Range: $55,350 - $70,110
