Consortium works with communities, Government and non-Governmental
agencies, academic institutions, local and international organizations; to ensure good evidence supports delivery of effective services, providing technical support for monitoring and evaluation of programmes and activities for evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning.
The organization has been operational in Nigeria since 2008 and recently opened a country office in Nigeria to fully establish itself with tong term commitment. Malaria
Consortium now seeks to recruit professionals in its newly established country office and new projects in Nigeria;
The Research Officer will oversee and carryout the research aspects of the Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) project. The officer will be based in Katsina and will ensure that findings from research are properly documented and disseminated. White working with the Project Coordinator to prepare a detailed work-plan for all research activities in the project, the officer will be responsible for
Providing technical support to the Project Coordinator, Project Director, Principal investigator and other relevant technical leads to develop research/survey protocols, data collection tools and study operating procedures; to effectively carry out research in the project;
Ensuring that all approvals are obtained for research activities such as institutional ethical clearance;
Providing technical inputs for the development of-the project communication and advocacy plan and support its implementation;
A Health professional with a Master's degree in any of Epidemiology, Public Health or other related discipline.
S/he must have a minimum of five years in health research; particularly qualitative research methods including ethnographic studies.
Previous experience working with rural communities, a good understanding of research data quality assurance and excellent report writing skills is essential for this position.
The ability to communicate fluently in Hausa language is required.
