Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for 2x Research Midwives or Research Nurses to join the Human Health Research Services Platform (HHRSP) within the Liggins Institute, a world‑leading research centre focused on improving lifelong health outcomes.

These roles support high‑impact maternal, perinatal and neonatal research, contributing directly to pregnancy and perinatal clinical trials being delivered at National Women’s Health, Te Toka Tumai Auckland. Working closely with researchers, clinicians and participants, you will play a key role across the clinical trial lifecycle within a collaborative, purpose‑driven research environment.

One position is fixed‑term until 31 December 2027, and the second is a 10‑month fixed‑term role. Both roles may be considered between 15h – 30h per week, offering flexibility for the right candidates.

The responsibilities of the roles include:

• Playing a key role in the set-up, promotion and conduct of pregnancy and perinatal clinical trials and studies being run at National Women’s Health, Te Toka Tumai Auckland
• Taking responsibility for one or more smaller projects
• Working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including obstetricians, midwives, and researchers
• Primary role in participant recruitment, consent process, study drug administration, neonatal monitoring, and data collection

The salary range for these roles are $83,400 - $103,000 (pro-rated), depending on skills and experience

He kōrero mōu | About you

Our ideal candidate will:

• Be a qualified and practising midwife or nurse with at least 3 years experience
• Have experience in the care of pregnant women/people and newborn babies and/or in clinical trials research
• Have very strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Have at least an intermediate level of Microsoft Office proficiency, and excellent attention to detail
• Have some flexibility in weekday working hours to accommodate participant scheduling and late afternoon/early evening neonatal monitoring
• Have experience working at National Women’s Health, Te Toka Tumai Auckland (preferred)
• Have research skills with experience in participant recruitment to clinical trials and other research studies (preferred)
