Position Summary:
The research associate will lead and contribute to advanced research projects investigating the neural mechanisms of motor learning, with a particular focus on brain and spinal cord functional MRI.
• Design, develop, and conduct innovative research projects in motor learning and neuroplasticity
• Develop and implement simultaneous brain and spinal cord fMRI protocols, including experimental design, data acquisition, and analysis
• Lead behavioral and neuroimaging experiments, ensuring high-quality data collection and protocol optimization
• Develop and apply advanced analytical methods for brain and spinal cord fMRI datasets
• Interpret research findings and lead the dissemination of results through publications and presentations
• Prepare and contribute to grant applications and research proposals
• Supervise and mentor research staff and trainees (Research Assistants, undergraduate and graduate students)
• Coordinate research activities and ensure compliance with established protocols and procedures
• Contribute to administrative and organizational tasks related to the research program
Experience required :
• PhD in Neuroscience, Neuroimaging, or a related field
• Postdoctoral experience is considered a strong asset
• Demonstrated expertise in the design, implementation, and analysis of simultaneous brain and spinal cord functional MRI (3T and 7T)
• Demonstrated expertise in the design, implementation, and analysis of human sensorimotor function assessments
• Strong background in motor learning and sensorimotor neuroscience
• Advanced programming skills (Python, MATLAB)
• Experience with advanced neuroimaging data analysis methods
• Commitment to open science practices (e.g., data sharing, reproducibility)
Language Requirements:
• Proficiency in both French and English (spoken and written)
• Ability to conduct experiments with human participants and perform all related research tasks in both languages
• Expected level: advanced
