Position Summary:
Professor Mackey and Professor Ferguson are seeking a part-time Research Assistant to support a funded research project. The primary responsibility of this role will be to develop a data dashboard for the project. This is a short-term position from April to June 2026, with the possibility of extension based on performance. There may also be opportunities to contribute to research projects involving AI-based video analysis and segmentation tools.
Applicants should have demonstrated experience in data visualization and web development. Experience with Qualtrics and UI/UX design is preferred. Relevant experience may come from coursework, professional work, or research projects completed with university faculty.
Candidates with a BA in Computer Science or a related field are preferred, though we are also open to highly motivated undergraduate students with relevant skills.
Candidates who are fluent French speakers is a plus but not required.
Qualifications:
The following skills and qualifications would be advantageous:
Candidates should be enrolled in, or have recently completed, undergraduate coursework in computer science, software development, web development, information systems, data science, or related fields.
Proficiency in French and English.
Strong initiative, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience with data visualization or UI/UX design.
Familiarity with survey platforms such as Qualtrics is an asset.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
