The laboratory of Professor Maiya Geddes invites applications for a Research Assistant to join our team in an intervention study that is located in Toronto at the Rotman Research Institute and Baycrest Hospital. This study involves acquisition of behavioural and MRI brain imaging data in Toronto from older adults participating in a personalized intervention to lower the risk of dementia. The primary objective of the position is to manage, coordinate and collect neuropsychological, wearable and brain imaging data. The position is available starting May 15, 2026. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with an interest in translational neuroscience, neurology, clinical trials, brain health with strengths in teamwork, collaboration, communication and organization. Experience in statistics and/or comfort with programming in Python are assets, but not required. The Research Assistant will be responsible for all aspects of the research process, including

• Acquiring cognitive, behavioural, wearable and neuroimaging data in older persons at risk for Alzheimer’s disease.
• Participation in providing academic mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students and research staff.
• Dissemination of research findings at professional conferences, and career development.

Qualifications:

BSc or MSc degree (Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Sciences, Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field)

Other Qualifying Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with acquisition and analysis of behavioral, physical and neuropsychological data and functional MRI.
• Knowledge of research methodology, quantitative data analysis including statistics and programming are an asset.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
• Interests in the clinical application of cognitive aging research and experience with clinical populations are also an asset.
• Outstanding communication skills and interest in working collaboratively on a vibrant research team
