The Cost Control Representative is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of cost provisioning, validating invoices against internal reports, vendor contractual rates, and established KPIs, while maintaining the integrity of all cost and volume data reported across their assigned portfolio of terminals. 
Level of Responsibility:  
Increased handling tasks with greater independence; Responsible for quality and timeliness of personal work. Contributing to projects with guidance, supporting team/organizational objectives. 
Key Tasks: 
• Enter vessel provisions on a timely basis, ensuring minimal discrepancies compared to actual disbursements. 
• Validate invoices in accordance with internal reports, vendor contractual rates, and established KPIs to ensure accuracy and compliance. 
• Verify the accuracy and consistency of all cost and volume data reported within the assigned portfolio of terminals. 
• Analyze disbursement reports and provide clear explanations for any discrepancies or exceptions identified. 
• Maintain regular communication with the Head Office Cost Control Department regarding all reporting activities. 
• Collaborate closely with partnering departments—including Logistics, Terminal Operations, and Vessel Operations—to ensure data accuracy and alignment. 
• Support and work collaboratively with the Accounts Payable team to facilitate timely and accurate invoice processing. 
• Assist in preparing financial analysis to support operational teams across vessel, terminal, and logistics functions. 
• Contribute to the identification and investigation of vessel cost variances versus plan, presenting findings to Finance and Operational leadership while proactively identifying risks and opportunities. 
• Provide support to the Director, Cost Control & AP on tasks and requests related to the cost control function. 
• Additional tasks may be adjusted based on departmental/business needs.  
Skills / Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. 
• Highly motivated, detail oriented, and proactive self starter with 2–3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis.  
• Knowledge of the transportation industry is considered an asset. 
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. 
• Strong team player capable of collaborating effectively across operational and functional teams, while also working independently as a trusted business partner.  
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines consistently.  
• Exceptionally well organized, with strong attention to process and structure.  
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.  
• Thrives in fast paced environments and works well under pressure.  
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and work with data.  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Bilingual in English and French.
