Overview of role:
Incisive Media’s leading publication Professional Adviser is looking for a diligent, enthusiastic Reporter to join its dynamic team
Professional Adviser is a specialist digital publication providing the latest news, analysis and feature content for the financial advice community across the UK. The Reporter will work with the News Editor in seeking out exclusive and off-diary news stories and writing other general news.
Alongside writing news stories, the Reporter will also regularly write features and news analyses focusing on key industry themes, as well as exclusive research and interviews with key figures in the financial advice space.
A typical day will involve, writing engaging news throughout the day as it comes in, this will include some tight deadlines. You will also participate in pitching exclusive and off-diary news stories. Additionally, you will attend weekly external meetings and media briefings with some of the industry leaders and major players in the field. A key part of this role will be to write industry interviews and features to a high standard.

A confident writer able to convey clear, timely, and persuasive messages
Demonstrates technical skills required for the role and pays attention to detail
Open to building on skills including in multimedia and events hosting
A natural curiosity and willingness to build on knowledge
What we value
A degree or equivalent in journalism, media studies or communications, or other relevant subject
At least one year’s experience in journalism
Ability to write accurate copy to a high standard
Experience of working in a newsroom that produces off-diary and exclusive reporting
Demonstrable ability to work effectively as part of a team
Experience of meeting short and long-term deadlines
Knowledge of the UK financial services industry would be ideal but is not a requirement
Enthusiasm to try new things and grow your skills
