Overview
A growing engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design of modular generator power systems. These systems support mission-critical infrastructure including data centers, utilities, and industrial facilities.
This role focuses on designing generator electrical architecture, integrating switchgear and protection systems, and developing electrical documentation required for manufacturing and system deployment.
The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, production-ready modular power platforms.
Requirements:
• Design electrical systems for generator power modules including power distribution and control systems
• Develop single line diagrams, electrical schematics, and wiring documentation
• Integrate generators with switchgear, transfer switches, and protection systems
• Design generator synchronization and load sharing solutions
• Develop monitoring and control architectures for generator operation
• Create grounding strategies and protection coordination for power systems
• Support commissioning and factory testing of generator power modules
• Coordinate electrical design with mechanical enclosure and packaging teams
• Produce electrical documentation supporting manufacturing and deployment
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of experience in electrical power system design
• Experience with electrical distribution systems and protection devices
• Experience developing industrial control systems and electrical schematics
• Strong understanding of generator-based power systems
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with standby power systems or data center backup power infrastructure
• Experience integrating generator controls and paralleling switchgear
• Exposure to microgrid or hybrid power system architectures
