Quick Summary

We are seeking a Relationship Manager, Fixed Income Events (12-month parental cover) in London.

Job Description

About Us

You will work within the Fixed Income Events group at the Financial Times, an established team known for delivering globally recognised conferences serving the capital markets, structured finance, and bond communities.

Our portfolio includes more than 12 events each year, ranging from focused, specialist meetings of around 100 participants to flagship conferences with over 6,000 attendees annually. Alongside our events, we work closely with the Fixed Income Investor Network (FIIN), an investor-led association that convenes senior buy-side participants through task forces, working groups, and market discussions.

While prior experience in banking or finance is not required, a genuine interest in financial markets and a willingness to learn are essential. Curiosity, engagement, and the ability to build credibility through conversation matter more than formal industry background.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

We believe in the power of unique perspectives and want all voices in our organisation to be heard, respected and valued. A supportive workplace is one where employees feel they can be themselves and operate to their full potential. We are committed to removing barriers for everyone, with a focus on addressing those faced by underrepresented groups.

Overview

As the Investor & Issuer Relations Manager, you will play a central role in building and maintaining strong relationships across the structured finance, bond and private credit markets. You will be responsible for engaging directly with investors, issuers, and key market participants, helping to shape our conferences and initiatives through ongoing dialogue, market insight, and community building.

This is a highly outward-facing role suited to someone who enjoys meeting people, building trust over time, and staying close to market dynamics. Your curiosity, relationship-building skills, and interest in the industry will be critical as you act as a connector between the market, our events, and the Fixed Income Investor Network (FIIN).

What does the role involve in detail?

This is a varied, relationship-driven role that works closely with the wider events and FIIN teams, while taking ownership of direct engagement with investors and issuers across the market. The role combines ongoing relationship management, market listening, and hands-on support for investor and issuer-led initiatives. We have broken this down into three core areas of focus below.

Investor and Issuer Relationship building

Own and manage relationships with investors and issuers across structured finance, bonds and private credit, maintaining regular direct engagement through calls, meetings, and in-person interactions.

Conduct research calls with investors and issuers attending FIE conferences to understand what they want and need from our events

Actively seek to build relations with new investor and issuer connections - this could be new types of investors, new geographies or companies we don’t have represented yet

Gather and synthesise market intelligence from investor and issuer conversations, sharing insights internally to inform programming, partnerships, and event strategy.

Create an interactive, year round investor community with FIIN

Work with the Head of IR to develop and drive FIIN’s strategic objectives

Act as a trusted point of contact for buy-side investors and issuers, developing a deep understanding of their investment focus, issuance activity, and strategic priorities.

Develop relevant investor and market content to share with the FIIN Investor community

Plan and host regular London investor networking events

Chair monthly FIIN asset-focussed taskforce calls

Arrange investor activities and discussions at relevant FIE conferences during the year

Create 2-4 FT webinars offering investor insight to be shared with FIIN and wider FIE community

Deliver the right investors and issuers to FIE events across the year

Work with production, marketing and sales to understand what the event needs for success

Build an outreach plan to achieve the targeted number of issuers and investors

Build a ‘top issuer and investor’ list to recruit and track all the key industry firms

Work collaboratively with marketing and operations teams to ensure communications reflect real market priorities and relationship-led engagement.

Manage incoming investor and issuer pass requests

Work to ensure an 80- 90% onsite show up rate for issuer and investor registrations

On site at events, support attendee arrival, manage investor and issuer queries and ensure delivery of any investor/issuer content and/or networking programme elements

Maintain clear records of key relationships and interactions to support continuity, institutional knowledge, and long-term engagement.

What do we need from you?

What matters most to us is not your specific background, but your mindset, core skills, and the aspects of work you naturally enjoy. We are looking for someone who is:

• A people-focused relationship builder

Comfortable engaging with senior market participants
You are confident interacting with senior investors, issuers, and industry leaders, and can engage professionally, calmly, and credibly in discussions. These discussions may be working groups, webinars, networking events and may event involve taking to the stage.

Collaborative and team-oriented
You work well within a team environment, share insights openly, and understand how your market-facing role supports the wider success of events, content, and partnerships.

Commercially curious and strategically minded
You are interested in understanding how markets work and enjoy identifying themes, opportunities, and emerging trends that can inform event strategy and community development.

Organised and detail-oriented
You are comfortable tracking interactions, maintaining accurate records, and managing follow-ups to ensure continuity across relationships and initiatives.

Keen to travel to events
This role will involve travel to events in Europe, America and possibly Asia. Onsite at events, the hours can be long and you will be needed to support the team and meet many new investors/issuers.
