Job Summary/Objective
The Reimbursement Specialist supports the Business Office by assisting with patient accounts, billing, and reimbursement-related tasks to help ensure timely and accurate payment for services provided. This position performs a variety of clerical, billing, and account support functions. Duties may vary based on department needs, training, and assigned responsibilities. Training and support are provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with patient account processing to support accurate billing and
Review and update patient and insurance information as
Perform assigned account follow-up and basic billing or reimbursement
Help identify and correct routine errors on accounts or
Post charges, payments, or adjustments as
Assist with insurance follow-up on unpaid or partially paid
Support refund processing and account corrections according to established
Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients or staff with basic billing-related
Provide general support for patient financial services, including estimates or balance questions, as trained.
Use billing systems and internal tools to complete assigned
Escalate questions or complex issues to senior staff or leadership as
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and confidentiality
Perform other duties as assigned to support Business Office
Skills / Abilities
Good cognitive skills, including the ability to understand information, apply training, and problem-solve effectively.
Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced office
Basic computer skills and ability to learn new

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in a medical office, billing, customer service, or clerical role preferred but not required.
On-the-job training provided.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Occasional standing, walking, or light lifting (up to 15 lbs).
