New Horizon Co-op is hiring a Full-Time Regulated Pharmacy Technician at our Downtown Food Store in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

What you’ll do:
Provide an excellent customer experience by ensuring customers’ needs are met, queries and concerns are resolved appropriately or redirected to the pharmacist when necessary
Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipts and removing outdated drugs
Organize medications for the Pharmacists to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions, preparing labels, and performing final Rx checks
Maintain records by documenting and filing Physicians' orders and prescriptions
Administer device for blood pressure check and blood sugar level
Process payments for customers’ transactions (including, providing change, point of sale transactions and receipts) through the cash register and point of sale systems
Compound medications
Assist in the proper care and maintenance of equipment pertaining to the Pharmacy
Perform additional duties as required including, but not limited to, routine price changes, housekeeping and compliance with health and safety regulations
Practice to the full scope of a regulated pharmacy technician as outlined in the Standards of Practice for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians

Who you are:
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong organizational skills
Licensed RPT in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
Previous retail pharmacy experience is required
Able to work independently and in a team
Attentive to detail and able to remain calm under pressure
Some heavy lifting may be required, up to 50lbs
Availability to work on a very flexible schedule (morning and evening shifts on weekdays and weekends)
