This position plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient administration, maintaining statutory compliance, and facilitating coordination among the academic and administrative bodies within the institution.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
Function as the chief administrative officer of the institution, reporting to the Vice-Chancellor
Hold the position of ex-officio Secretary for the following bodies:
Board of Management
Academic Council
Planning and Monitoring Board
(Note: The Registrar is not a member of these bodies)
Ensure the implementation of policies, decisions, and resolutions adopted by statutory authorities
Supervise and manage:
Institutional records and documentation
Compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations
Academic administration procedures
Official communications and notifications
Facilitate coordination among departments to guarantee seamless institutional operations
Oversee administrative personnel to maintain operational effectiveness
Uphold confidentiality and integrity in all institutional affairs
Governance & Compliance
Ensure compliance with the rules and regulations established by:
Governing bodies
Regulatory authorities
Manage audits, inspections, and fulfill institutional reporting obligations
Serve as the custodian of official records, seals, and documents
Authority & Delegation
In the event of the Registrar’s absence (due to leave, illness, or vacancy), the responsibilities will be assumed by the Deputy Registrar
Work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Vice-Chancellor
Qualifications & Experience
A Master’s Degree from a recognized university (PhD is preferred)
At least 10–15 years of experience in academic administration or institutional governance
Previous experience in universities or deemed institutions is desirable
Comprehensive knowledge of higher education regulations and compliance frameworks
Key Skills & Competencies
Demonstrated administrative and leadership skills
Exceptional communication and coordination abilities
Familiarity with academic systems, governance structures, and statutory compliance
High standards of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
Capability to handle multiple stakeholders and prioritize institutional objectives
