Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Registered Nurse – Cardiac Care for a top healthcare client in Kansas City, MO.
This position provides high-quality care to cardiac telemetry patients recovering from open-heart surgery, stent placements, ablations, pacemaker/AICD insertions, and other cardiovascular procedures. The Cardiac Care unit operates within a comprehensive stroke and STEMI facility, offering an excellent opportunity for RNs to advance their critical care and cardiac nursing expertise in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide nursing care for post-cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology patients, including those with stents, pacemakers, and ablations.
• Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to cardiac rhythm changes or emergencies.
• Coordinate and implement patient care plans in alignment with hospital and unit standards.
• Administer medications, assess patient responses, and document all care activities accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.
• Educate patients and families on cardiac recovery, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing practice standards, and patient safety procedures.
Requirements:
Education
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
Experience
• Prior clinical experience preferred; open to new graduates with strong cardiac interest
Certifications/Licenses
• Active Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire
Skills or Competencies
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to provide high-acuity cardiac care in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent teamwork and adaptability
