Inpatient RN – Specialty Units Hiring | Gainesville, FL
Location: Gainesville, Florida – North Central Florida | Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts | Days or Nights | Rotating Weekends
Compensation — Experience-Based Pay Scale:
• 2 years experience: $30.69/hr
• 5 years experience: $33.71/hr
• 17 years experience: $43.20/hr (maximum)
• Float Pool RN: $43.00/hr flat rate — same pay regardless of experience
Night Differential: +$4.25/hr | Weekend Differential: +$3.00/hr
Sign-On Bonus: Varies by unit — see job description below for amounts by department
Relocation: Available for candidates relocating 100+ miles ($2,500–$5,000 for approved roles)

Overview
A 523-bed acute care hospital in Gainesville, Florida is hiring Registered Nurses across six specialty inpatient units. This facility is a major regional referral center serving North Central Florida and has operated for over 49 years, offering comprehensive cardiovascular, neurology, oncology, orthopedic, and surgical services.

Units Currently Hiring
Renal / Vascular Unit — HIGH PRIORITY
• Days and nights available | Rotating weekends
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 7:1
• 45-bed unit
• Experience required: 1 year acute care RN experience within the last 2 years
• Certifications required: BLS within 30 days | NIH Stroke Scale within 30 days
• Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 Days | $20,000 Nights
• Relocation: Approved for candidates 100+ miles away ($2,500–$5,000)
Pulmonary / Respiratory Care — 2 Openings
• Nights ONLY (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Rotating weekends
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 7:1
• 45-bed unit
• Experience required: 1 year acute care RN experience within the last 2 years
• Certifications required: BLS within 30 days | NIH Stroke Scale within 30 days
• Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 Days | $20,000 Nights
• Relocation: Approved for candidates 100+ miles away ($2,500–$5,000)
Neurology / Stroke Care — 2 Openings
• Days and nights available | Rotating weekends
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 7:1
• Experience required: 1 year acute care RN experience within the last 2 years

Inpatient Surgical Unit — Up to 5 Openings
• Nights ONLY | Rotating weekends
• Post-surgical patients: PACU recovery, abdominal surgeries, wound care, overnight surgical stays
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 7:1
• 45-bed unit
• Experience required: 1 year acute care RN experience within the last 2 years
• Certifications required: BLS within 30 days | NIH Stroke Scale within 30 days
• Sign-On Bonus: None
• Relocation: Case by case
Cardiac Telemetry / Med-Surg
• Days and nights available | Rotating weekends
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 days / 6:1 nights (7:1 possible — must be comfortable)
• 45-bed unit
• Experience required: 1 year acute care RN experience within the last 2 years
• Certifications required: BLS within 30 days | ACLS within 90 days
• Sign-On Bonus: None
• Relocation: Case by case
• Starting pay: $29.00/hr at 2 years experience (vs. $30.69 for other units)
Float Pool — Med-Surg (Up to 3 Openings)
• Days and nights | Every other weekend (not every weekend)
• Floats across multiple med-surg units — must be comfortable with varied assignments
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 7:1
• Pay: FLAT $43.00/hr regardless of years of experience
• Experience required: 1 year current acute care Med-Surg experience — must be CURRENTLY working in Med-Surg
• Med-Surg background ONLY accepted for this role — ICU, ER, or other backgrounds are not eligible
• Certifications required: BLS within 30 days | AHCA Level 2 background check and fingerprinting required
• Sign-On: Case by case | Relocation: Case by case
Minimum Qualifications — All Roles
• Active Florida RN license or multi-state compact RN license
• Compact license holders: Florida license required within 60 days of hire
• ASN, RN Diploma, or BSN from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
• BLS certification (must be current or obtained within 30 days of start)
• Unit-specific certifications apply — see each unit above
• Must be comfortable with 7:1 nurse-to-patient ratio (required for most units)
Ideal Candidates
• Acute care RNs with recent inpatient hospital experience (within last 2 years)
• Nurses comfortable managing 7:1 patient ratios in high-volume specialty units
• Med-Surg RNs currently working in Med-Surg and open to float pool assignments
• Night shift candidates — highest sign-on incentives available on Pulmonary and Renal units
• Candidates living within 60 minutes of Gainesville, FL or relocating from 100+ miles away
• Nurses prepared to complete in-person interview including facility tour and administration meeting
 
Schedule
Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM  |  Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
All roles: 3×12-hour shifts per week. Weekend rotation varies by unit — see unit details above.

Candidates are screened and matched to the open unit that best fits their clinical background, certifications, and shift preference. A single application covers all open nursing departments.
Note: This facility requires an in-person interview for all candidates. Virtual screening may occur first, but offers will not be extended without completion of an in-person visit including a facility tour and administration interview.
Location: Gainesville, FL – North Central Florida. Candidates must be within 60 minutes of the facility. Relocation assistance is available for approved roles for candidates relocating from 100+ miles away.
