Position Details
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Monitor Bed Unit (MBU)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift (1st Shift; days vary)
Travel: None required
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse in the Monitor Bed Unit (MBU) provides direct, patient-centered care utilizing clinical expertise, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice. This role involves continuous patient monitoring, timely intervention, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to clinical changes
Perform comprehensive assessments for patients across the lifespan
Administer medications safely using electronic medical record systems
Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to abnormalities
Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and specialized treatments
Provide patient and family education, support, and advocacy
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant patient care environment
Collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
Minimum Qualifications
Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (CPR) – required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required within 6 months of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – preferred
Experience: Recent Critical Care and/or Medical-Surgical experience required

Employment Requirements
