Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) for a top healthcare client in Kansas City, MO.
This role provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurologic conditions in a Level I Trauma Facility. The Med/Surg unit offers an excellent opportunity for nurses to broaden their clinical expertise in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with varying medical and post-surgical conditions.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to non-licensed staff within scope of practice.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families throughout the care continuum.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and optimal outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and safety protocols.
Requirements:
Education
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN) required
Experience
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care RN experience required (does not need to be recent)
Certifications/Licenses
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
Skills or Competencies
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Compassionate, patient-focused mindset
• Ability to manage a 6:1 patient ratio in a dynamic hospital setting
