Job Description: We are a rapidly growing gastroenterology office and endoscopy suite located in Northbrook and Libertyville. As a practice, we are committed to providing exceptional medical services while creating a positive patient experience. To support our continued expansion, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate GI Nurse to join our dedicated team. New graduate nurses are also welcomed, as we are committed to providing comprehensive training and mentorship in the field of gastroenterology.

Responsibilities:

· Perform nursing duties in the endoscopy procedure room, including assisting with pre-operative processes, monitoring vital signs, and documenting procedural findings.

· Assist the anesthesiologist and gastroenterologist during procedures.

· Create and send pathology orders to the appropriate lab based on patients' insurance coverage.

· Process orders for laboratory and radiology testing, medication orders, and referrals post-procedure.

· Obtain medical records from Northwestern Epic/Northshore Epic.

· Assist with phone triage of patient issues and communicate results to patients.

· Educate patients about procedures, medications, and follow-up care.

· Handle prior authorizations and appeal letters as required.

· Perform phlebotomy and administer vaccines if necessary.

· Communicate with infusion centers regarding referrals and insurance coverage.

· Meet with pharmaceutical, pharmacy, and device representatives for education and resolution of coverage issues.

Requirements:

· Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.

· Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

· Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

· Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

· ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification is a plus.

· Flexibility to work at both Northbrook and Libertyville locations as required.

· New graduate nurses are welcomed, as comprehensive training and mentorship will be provided.

Additional Details:

· No on-call responsibilities.

· Flexibility of having a 4-day work week available.
