We work with our 11 First Nation community partners and the IFC in the provision of primary health care, traditional healing, mental wellness and addictions, home and community support services, and health promotion services.
The opportunity: Under the direction of the Urban Indigenous Health Centre Primary Care Manager and the Director of Comprehensive Primary Health Care, the Registered Nurse Clinical Lead provides direct primary care within their full scope of practice while also serving in a clinical leadership capacity within Maamwesying North Shore Community Health Services Inc.
As an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse Clinical Lead collaborates with nurse practitioners, physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and community-based health service providers to ensure the delivery of culturally responsive, high-quality care to Indigenous people and their families across the lifespan.
The Registered Nurse Clinical Lead Nurse acts as a senior clinician responsible for providing
clinical guidance to nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care,
implementing evidence-based practices and supporting clinical operations. They serve as a
liaison between frontline staff and management, fostering a safe, respectful, and collaborative
team environment. The role includes guidance on clinical workflows, mentoring and coaching
nursing staff, contributing to policy and procedure development, and supporting continuous
quality improvement initiatives.
In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Registered Nurse Clinical Lead continues to provide
direct patient care, often assisting with complex cases and supporting care coordination.
Through completion of the nursing process, the Clinical Lead promotes and restores health,
provides physical and psychological support to patients and families, and remains fully
accountable for ensuring that the highest standards of safe, competent, ethical, and client-
centered care are consistently upheld across services.
What you need to bring with you:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent
Current membership with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Current membership in professional associations: Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
Ability to work evenings on occasion
Police Record/Vulnerable Sector Check
Preferred experience working in primary care setting (ie. Family physician’s office, nurse practitioner clinic, or within a clinic and/or community setting)
Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated critical thinking skills to make clinical decisions through identification, evaluation, and management of the individual needs of patients/families

What to expect?
Given the traditional practices of Indigenous people, from time-to-time exposure to smoke from the burning of sacred medicines such as tobacco, sweet grass, sage or cedar may occur.
