South-East Ottawa Community Health Centre (SEOCHC) provides health, social services and community development to residents living in our neighbourhoods. We are seeking Registered Early Childhood Educators to deliver high-quality preschool programs (indoors and outdoors) at various locations in the absence of permanent staff. (Mornings, Monday to Saturday)
Under the supervision of the Early Years/ Early ON coordinator, the Casual Registered Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for working in a manner that preserves confidentiality, seeks to minimize risk for the parents, caregivers, and children, and incorporates and strengthens collaborative and multi-disciplinary teamwork.
Qualifications:
Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree preferred
Early Childhood Education Students will be considered
All Candidates must be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators upon completion of receiving an Early Childhood Education Diploma
3-5 years of prior experience working with young children in a group setting.
Must be flexible and a team player willing to occasionally work in summer, holidays and Saturdays
Experience working in Community Services an asset
Awareness of community resources
Good organizational skills
Sensitive to issues of low-income, cultural and family diversity, and the social determinants of health
Knowledge of HDLH (How does learning happen)
Valid First-Aid and CPR certificate
Health and Safety training
Excellent English Skills, French, Arabic, or Somali are an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A criminal record check for the vulnerable sector is required
Valid Driver’s license (use of car essential)
Wages: $27.26 – 32.06/hour depending on experience + 4% in lieu of benefits
