Position Summary:
We are looking for a licensed, registered or certified nutritionist to provide patients enrolled in contracted treatment centers with direction and structure surrounding healthy eating habits, balanced diet and nutrition planning.
The right candidate will need to be an expert in food and nutrition wellness. Patients will depend on you to guide them towards better diet planning, eating habits and a healthy lifestyle. The Nutritionist shall be responsible for assessing patient’s needs using proven scientific methods and determining the most suitable nutrition plan for each individual.
Must be registered, certified or licensed in CA as a Nutritionist and well-versed in relevant matters involving food choices and diet as well as skilled in suggesting personalized eating solutions. The goal of this role is to contribute towards maintaining the client's healthy constitution, thus delivering value to our organization by strengthening our reputations as exceptional treatment providers.
Responsibilities
Evaluate the dietary needs of each client by assessing their health and exercise levels, sleep and food habits, etc.
Clarify information to clients and educate them on the importance of balanced nutrition and overall impact on health condition.
Offer to counsel and suggest positive alterations in nutrition while addressing clients’ dietary restrictions
Create full and personalized nutrition plans that promote healthy lifestyles
Set clear objectives and provide support to clients to help them in achieving treatment goals.
Documentation of initial nutrition screening and ongoing patient follow-up in EMR
Refer and notify any high-risk patients to the treatment center staff for assessment
Be experienced in mental health and Substance Use Disorders and group settings is preferred but not required
Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience and scope of practice as a nutritionist
Basic Computer skills
Exceptional at critical thinking skills and easily applies logic to problem-solving
Can give direction and facilitate or lead a group efficiently and effectively
Listens to others when they are speaking, asking questions when necessary
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Degree in nutritional science, dietetics, or relevant field
Valid license or registration to practice the profession
