What You’ll Do
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional needs and develop tailored care plans
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care focused on nutrition and dietary management
Supervise dietary department staff, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to best practices in nutrition
Implement tube feeding protocols as necessary for patients requiring specialized nutritional support
Utilize EMR systems to document patient progress, dietary interventions, and outcomes effectively
Provide education on weight loss strategies and healthy eating habits to patients and their families
Perform diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition and dietetics to identify areas for improvement in patient health
Stay updated on the latest research in nutrition, physiology, and dietary practices relevant to geriatrics and other populations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or a related field; Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential preferred
Experience in acute care settings, long-term care facilities, or hospitals is highly desirable
Knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and health coaching principles
Familiarity with dietary department operations and supervisory experience is a plus
Proficiency in using EMR systems for documentation and patient management
Strong communication skills with the ability to educate diverse populations about nutrition-related topics
Previous experience with tube feeding protocols and dietary interventions is beneficial
