As our team continues to expand across Asia, we are looking for a detail-oriented Regional Payroll Specialist to join our regional HR team. This role is based in Kuala Lumpur and will primarily focus on payroll operations for SEA and Hong Kong/China, while supporting ad-hoc HR recruitment activities when needed.
Job Overview
The Regional Payroll Specialist
is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing across assigned countries (SEA, Hong Kong, and Mainland China), in collaboration with HR, Finance, and external payroll vendors. The role also supports basic HR operations, including occasional recruitment activities for junior and part-time positions.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
Handle end-to-end payroll processing for SEA and Hong Kong/Mainland China, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local tax and labor regulations.
Work with external payroll vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain data integrity and resolve payroll-related issues.
Prepare payroll reports, statutory filings, and support internal/external audits.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and regulatory changes.
HR Support & Recruitment (occasional)
Support ad-hoc recruitment activities (e.g., part-time or junior-level hiring).
Coordinate job postings, screening, and interview scheduling as needed.
Assist with other HR administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of payroll experience, knowledge of SEA and Hong Kong/Mainland China payroll regulations is a plus.
Fluent Chinese and English
Experience working with payroll vendors and HRIS systems.
Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and compliance orientation.
Good communication and collaboration skills across teams and cultures.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
