About the role 

Reporting to the State General Manager (with functional operations reporting line to General Manager, National Operations), this role is accountable for the effective day to day management of inventory optimisation, compliance, WHS & reporting in their region. 

They will also work with Branch Managers to support all branch staff and ensure there is good understanding and compliance across the network in relation to systems and processes and best practice.

You'll be a self-starter, who can readily create rapport with people at all levels whilst keeping sight of the bigger picture.

A bit about your role

• Work closely with the other Regional Operations Managers and Branch Managers to improve inventory quality and stock turns, utilising both national & locally based initiatives.

• Play a key role in the establishment of new branches, branch refurbishments, relocations & closures.

• Assist the network through the provision of quality local reporting, regional inventory management and compliance

• Manage State customer pricing and play a key role in supplier price negotiations.

• Manage and provide mentorship to the Operational Assistant

• Oversee the State distribution centre purchasing & distribution 

• Assist Branch Managers to fully optimise Pronto ERP system within their branch.

• Provide support & assistance to the branch network on audit/compliance related issues.

• Drive WHS training and monitor branch compliance and conduct regular i-Auditor safety audits.

• Travel required to Regional Branches in SA

A bit about you

• Proven branch management/operational experience with a solid track record in demonstrating commercial acumen

• The ability to manage clear and consistent performance standards as well as handle performance problems decisively and objectively

• Excellent communication skills to create accurate and punctual reports, deliver presentations, collaborate with other people at all levels

• Instilling our company values on branch staff and the wider network (One Rexel!)

• A track record in the successful coaching and development of staff

• Experience focusing on sales and operations across a multi-site network.
