Regional Director of Operations Overview
This role is designed for an extremely motivated individual ready to lead their Field Management team in a designated region to success in ensuring company standards/procedures and goals are met or exceeded, including meeting delivery productivity and financial targets. As the Regional Director, you will take ownership of achieving industry-leading level of service requirements as expected by the company’s customers.
Responsibilities
(include, but are not limited to)
Conducts business in a manner that enhances the reputation of UST, our contractors, and our customers
Conducts frequent visits within your region no less than once quarterly (dependent on the number of locations you’re responsible for)
Conducts ride-behinds and evaluations of contractors to determine skill levels and work with field management to address deficiencies
Ensures all operations are operating in compliance with DOT and OSHA requirements
Ensures all operations have adequate personnel to operate successfully
Ensures proper and effective training in field management positions is taking place
Exceeds UST & Client Service requirements
Leads, coaches, evaluates, and mentors subordinate staff in the successful operation of their locations
Manages daily operations with an emphasis on service and financial objectives to achieve sustained E3 performance levels
Monitors cost per stop, productivity and capacity levels with the intention of driving improved results
Monitors weekly reports to ensure financial objectives are being met for both UST and for the client
Monitors weekly settlements to ensure contractors goals are being achieved
Participates in recruiting of new Independent Contractors and ensure field management is equipped with the skills and tools necessary to recruit, network, and mentor Independent Contractors locally
Promotes the overall success of UST in all regions and ventures
Reviews client’s specific concerns in detail to ensure thorough understanding of the concern and then develops and executes appropriate corrective actions
Seeks to exceed budget expectations
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and/or 6+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook
Knowledge of DOT regulation
Possess verbal and written communication skills
Ability to make independent judgments, many of which have considerable impacts on the organization
Ability to problem-solve and creatively think of innovative solutions
Ability to balance customer satisfaction with cost effectiveness
Ability to multi-task and provide thorough follow-ups
Ability to analyze and create statistical reports
Ability to analyze and create financial statements
Up to 80% travel and 24/7 availability depending on performance of assigned region
