Referrals Specialist

Busy Obstetrics and Gynecology practice seeking enthusiastic, detail-oriented team member for our Referrals Department.

Duties:

Reviewing and processing referrals received from healthcare providers

Obtain necessary insurance authorization for diagnostic services (radiology, ultrasounds, mammograms, etc.), specialty consultations, and specialty medications

Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to ensure timely and appropriate care

Provide excellent customer service to patients and address any concerns or questions they may have

Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care for patients

The ideal candidate:

Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations

Familiarity with Medi-Cal, managed care and insurance verification processes

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Will contribute to positive work atmosphere and team morale
