The Mikisew Cree First Nation (Mikisew) has lived on the ancestral lands of the Athabasca Delta and Wood Buffalo National Park in northeastern Alberta since time immemorial. Who You Are

Mikisew is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Red Seal Plumber/Oil Burner Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining, repairing, and installing both plumbing systems and oil heating systems across our community. Your expertise will help ensure the safety, functionality, and comfort of our residential, commercial, and public facilities. You will work closely with a team of skilled professionals who are committed to providing top-notch services to our community members.

This position is based in Fort Chipewyan, AB

Roles & Responsibilities:

Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in accordance with local codes and regulations.

Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions.

Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute plumbing projects.

Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential problems and areas for improvement.

Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.

Provide exceptional customer service while addressing the plumbing needs of community members.

Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements to enhance your skills and knowledge.

All other duties as required.

Qualifications

·        Journeyman Plumber certification or equivalent.

·        Red Seal Plumber certification is required.

·        Oil Burner Technician certification

·        A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Plumber, with experience in oil burner servicing a plus.

·        Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, oil burner installation/maintenance codes, regulations, and best practices.

·        Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing both plumbing and oil burner issues.

·        Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·        Strong communication and customer service skills.

·        Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
