We are currently looking for a Red Seal Metal Fabricator to join our big family at our Shop in Maple Ridge. Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, the Red Seal Metal Fabricator will be responsible for producing a finished product to the highest standards of quality.

 Specifically, the Red Seal Metal Fabricator will:

Lead by example 

Perform the duties of a Red Seal Metal Fabricator:

Read and interpret fabrication drawings and spool sheets.

Measure, cut, fit, and prep carbon and stainless-steel pipe.

Operate Heavy & light machinery such as: drills, welding machines, saws, cutting torches, grinders.

Use of flame and plasma cutting machinery.  

Assemble, fit, and weld.

Handling material with Forklifts & overhead crane.

Mentor, coach, train, and correct apprentices & help with their skill development.

Solve problems to keep production flowing.

Follow the shop's health and safety policies.

Follow the shop and project-specific QA/QC program.

Work with order/fabrication tracking software.

Participate in a LEAN manufacturing culture.

Keeps working area clean and tidy.

Take part in a lean manufacturing culture.

Perform other duties as required.

Skills & Requirements

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Strong English Skills.

Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.

Able to multitask and prioritize.

Education and Experience

Red Seal in Metal Fabrication.

Experience in a shop environment. 

Experience operating CNC plasma tables. 

AutoCAD experience is an asset. 

Experience designing and fabricating jigs is an asset. 

CWB tickets are considered an asset. 

Experience with mechanical systems and piping is considered an asset.

Knowledge of the construction industry is considered an asset.

Computer proficiency.

Compensation: $44/h + 5% RRSP + Health & Dental Benefits Package (100% company-paid) + LTD + AD&D + Life Insurance.
