HWRC Site Operative – Denby Dale Road Salary: £23,730 per annum Shift pattern: 4 on/4 off, averaging 33.53 hours per week Monday – Saturday 07:30 – 17:30 Sunday 08:00 – 17:00 Late Night 07:45 – 20:15 The main purpose of the role is deliver a high level of customer service to site users as well as ensuring a high level of health and safety of compliance is maintained at all times. Your key responsibilities: • Providing excellent levels of customer service to members of the public, assisting and advising them on how to use the site effectively and safely • Ensure segregation of different waste streams into appropriate containers to maximise the recovery of materials • Ensure hazardous waste is separated and stored appropriately • Ensure a high level of housekeeping is maintained and that the site is clean and tidy at all times • Keep all equipment clean and maintained to ensure a safe working environment • Control traffic flows are managed to ensure a safe operation • Identify and report any defects on site following the defect reporting procedure • Follow all risk assessments and safe operating procedure that are relevant to the post • Report all non-compliance’s and breaches of site rules following reporting systems • Ensures contract runs in compliance with internal and external safety / environmental / permit / planning processes and procedures, as well as any contract requirements. • Must be willing to learn other skills and attend training courses to aid service continuity
