In this 20 month contract position, you’ll be responsible for supporting all aspects of the recruitment process for retail and management positions across Farm Boy retail locations. This role contributes to the coordinated efforts of attracting, recruiting, and onboarding high-quality candidates while supporting workforce planning, succession initiatives, and community recruitment efforts. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and candidates. Here are some of the other ways you’ll help us stand out:
• Partner with Retail Directors and Retail Specialists to identify current and future staffing needs and support recruitment activities for retail store positions.
• Manage and maintain job postings while supporting the full cycle recruitment process across the assigned region.
• Support succession planning and workforce development initiatives through ongoing engagement with retail store teams.
• Support our Retail stores in understanding and applying recruitment guidelines that foster a positive candidate engagement aligned with our employer brand.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential candidates through networking, referrals, community outreach, and proactive recruitment strategies.
• Coordinate and support post-secondary recruitment initiatives by building relationships with schools, attending career fairs, conducting presentations, and participating in organized hiring events.
• Represent and promote the Farm Boy brand and culture through participation in local recruitment events, community partnerships, and career fairs.
• Support and coordinate hiring events and monitor retail staffing levels to identify and address recruitment needs proactively.
• Manage recruitment administration processes to ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable employment legislation, including: screening resumes, scheduling/conducting interviews, coordinating second level interviews, completing assessments/reference checks, and preparing job offers and onboarding details.
• Maintain accurate recruitment records, candidate tracking, and hiring documentation.
• Contribute to overall team success by taking on additional related responsibilities as required.
• This role can be based out of Ottawa or the GTA.

• A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
• Typically requires post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of recruitment experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of Employment Standards legislation, Human Rights legislation, and Health and Safety regulations.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills.
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet established goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.
• Comfortable working in an environment that includes extended periods of sitting, repetitive tasks, frequent computer use, open office noise, and a flexible schedule that includes occasional travel between stores and regions with reliable transportation.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
