The core job duties include:

Plan, lead, and deliver recreation programs and activities (e.g., sports, fitness, arts, education, outdoor, or youth programs) with energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism

Prepare and maintain program equipment and materials

Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for diverse participants

Supervise program participants and enforce safety procedures

The ideal candidate(s) will have: 

Qualifications and/or experience related to the program(s) being taught

Specialty skills or certifications (e.g., fitness coaching, cooking, arts instruction, outdoor education etc.)

Standard First Aid and CPR C with AED 

Independent decision making, problem solving and analytical skills

Ability to communicate effectively with participants, parents/guardians, and team members

Ability to assess participants’ needs and determining modifications if needed

Salary: The pay range for these positions is $24.00 - $34.00 /per hour dependent on qualifications and experience. This position is a fixed-term contract position.

An Active Living Pass which includes free access to the pool, gym, ice rink, squash and racquetball courts, climbing wall, and some fitness classes will be provided to you so you can take advantage of our recreational facilities during your employment. *To obtain your pass you must meet the minimum requirement of working 8 hours or more per month. 

Start Dates: Many of these positions and programs will start in early November after the completion of renovations to our main program spaces. However, we welcome new class ideas and suggestions at any time!
