Position Title: Recreation Facility Attendant (Casual part-time)
AFN Enterprises (GP) Limited, the general partner of AFN Enterprises Limited Partnership (“AFN Enterprises”), the business arm of the ʔakisq̓nuk First Nation (“AFN”), is seeking friendly, reliable casual staff to support daily recreation centre operations and provide excellent service to our community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with the public, staying active, and contributing to a safe and welcoming space for all. This position reports to the Facility Manager, and to the General Manager as required.
Location: Columbia Lake Rec Centre
The position starts at $20.00 per hour and will be considered for an increase after a three-month probationary review.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Act as a positive ambassador for Columbia Lake Rec Centre by providing kind, respectful, and welcoming service to all patrons
Supervise facility users and ensure recreation centre rules, safety guidelines, and respectful behaviour are followed
Perform cleaning and general facility upkeep as required
Handle cash transactions, issue receipts, and complete cash-out reports accurately
Set up and take down recreation equipment (e.g., basketball nets, pickleball nets, and other activity apparatus)
Enter customer bookings and attendance into the scheduling system
Follow all procedures and responsibilities outlined in the Operations Manual (provided during onboarding)
Support day-to-day operations by assisting with additional tasks as required
Be a dependable, cooperative, and positive team member
Qualifications & Skills:
Friendly, approachable, and respectful communication style
Demonstrate respect, kindness, and inclusivity toward all community members
Experience in customer service, recreation, facilities, or a similar role is an asset
Experience handling cash and point-of-sale systems is an asset
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable enforcing rules in a calm, respectful, and professional manner
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and setting up equipment
Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Basic computer skills for scheduling and data entry
First Aid and CPR certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain)
