Join Our Mission: Recovery Café Kitchen Associate
At Community-Minded Enterprises (CME), we believe recovery happens in community. Through our Recovery Café, we create a welcoming, inclusive space grounded in dignity, connection, and hope. We’re looking for a Recovery Café Kitchen Associate who enjoys working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and is passionate about creating a warm, nourishing experience for others.

What You’ll Do
As the Kitchen Associate, you’ll help power the daily operations of the Recovery Café by supporting food service, maintaining a clean and welcoming space, and engaging with members and volunteers.
Food & Kitchen Operations
Assist with the pickup and transport of food donations and supplies
Prepare and serve meals for lunch, latte hours, and special events
Maintain food inventory and ensure proper storage and handling
Keep kitchen, barista, and café areas clean, organized, and welcoming
Community Support & Engagement
Foster a culture of Radical Hospitality with caring accountability
Support and guide members and volunteers in kitchen and café activities
Communicate café guidelines and help maintain a safe, respectful environment
Serve as a positive presence and advocate for Recovery Café members
Team & Program Support
Participate in team meetings and trainings
Support café events and occasional evening/weekend needs
Assist with trainings for members and volunteers
Pitch in wherever needed to support café operations
What You Bring
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and communities
Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Preferred
Lived experience with recovery or connection to Recovery Café/Recovery Support Services
Experience in food service, hospitality, or kitchen environments
Valid Washington State driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
Certified Peer Counselor or CCAR Recovery Coach certification
