Position Overview

The main purpose of the Red Seal Millwright is to be responsible for safely repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment for the Ball Mill at the Sugar Zone Mine.

Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability

Safety

·         Ensure safe work systems/procedures are always practised and adhered to ensuring duties are performed in a manner that minimises risk to self, employees, and contractors.

·         Maintain exemplary standard of housekeeping at all times, safe work, incident/accident reporting & active involvement in safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.

·         Abide by and proactively comply with Company policies, procedures, guidelines, and systems, as well as all relevant legislation.

·         Understand and familiarise oneself with site Emergency evacuation procedures.

Company / Leadership

·         Display conduct which is aligned with company Core Values, Policies and Procedures.

·         Initiate and provide input into company directives in collaboration with the Site Management team.

·         Communicate department obligations and conditions to the leadership team, ensuring specific understanding and accountability.

Behaviour / Attitude

·         Support and follow all lawful instructions/directives from direct supervisor.

·         Maintain a high level of professionalism and take responsibility for own conduct and behaviour in the workplace.

·         Ensure good, clear lines of communication between all stakeholders, including the Site Management team, co-workers and contractors

Knowledge / Skills / Duties

·         Review and troubleshoot hydraulic systems through the use of drawings or schematics

·         Maintain and repair machinery, loading pockets, dewatering pumps and main ventilation fans

·         Identify issues through preventive maintenance processes to determine future work requirements

·         Undertake pipe fitting, threaded, Victaulic, Hugger and HDPE applications

·         Mentor Apprentices at all stages through their apprenticeships

·         Assist with familiarizing new employees and contractors to the equipment and surroundings

·         Provide input and/or suggestions into potential equipment improvements

·         Correctly & thoroughly complete all required documentation and affix signature to work performed

·         Complete work order requirements, report writing, 5 point cards etc.

·         Perform rigging and hoisting as required

·         Perform coupling and sheave alignment, straight edges/feeler gauges, dial indicators, laser

·         Utilize bearing applications and installation, clearance adjustment and care

·         Undertake all types of pump wet end overhauls and settings

·         Perform basic welding as needed, including oxygen/acetylene

·         Undertake proper oil sampling when required and take action accordingly

·         Undertake vibration analysis when required to – identify problems early of the PF curve

Teamwork

·         Work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals – both within own department and site wide

·         Leverage off and use the talent and knowledge within the team to resolve problems.

·         Share gained experience and knowledge of work in progress

·         Attend and participate constructively in daily line-ups, safety meetings

Planning & Organisation

·         Prioritise and completes tasks accurately as to specifications as assigned by direct supervisor within expected timeframes.

·         Proactively identify and address hazards before they arise as issues.

·         Proactively identify Preventive Maintenance assignments work to be scheduled

·         Be punctual to work and all required meetings.

·         Undertake other duties as lawfully instructed
