The Senior Diagnostician is responsible for managing the client’s oil analysis program, including sample analysis, reporting, and maintenance recommendations. This role involves identifying potential equipment issues through oil sample diagnostics and translating technical data into actionable insights. The position supports efforts to prevent equipment failures, reduce maintenance costs, and extend asset life.
JOB FUNCTIONS
• Oversee the fluid analysis program, including laboratory analysis, and data interpretation.
• Analyze samples to identify signs of wear, contamination, and potential equipment failures.
• Diagnose the root cause of equipment problems based on analysis results and other condition monitoring data.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance recommendations based on findings.
• Track trends in analysis data and identify opportunities for program improvement.
• Liaise with clients (maintenance, operations, engineering) to communicate findings and to provide recommendations on sampling techniques, frequency and other items to facilitate the fluid analysis program.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in testing, analysis and condition monitoring technologies.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices within the organization.
• Assist in the development of auto-diagnostic tables and commentary
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and quality control procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's Degree (Science or Engineering) or combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of laboratory experience in the data analysis or diagnostics.
• Previous mechanical experience or aptitude.
• Previous supervisory experience.
