We are looking for a Raw Materials & Ingredients  Specialist
based in offices at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) in Belval, Luxembourg. 

WHAT ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Define and execute a long-term raw material strategy to drive innovation while managing risk and strengthening supply resilience. 

Monitor market, technology, and regulatory trends to identify and evaluate innovative raw materials, functional ingredients, and supplier technologies. 

Lead qualification of alternative raw materials and suppliers to ensure availability and supply security. 

Plan and coordinate technical validation activities, including laboratory testing and pilot-scale trials as required. 

Collaborate closely with Quality Control and Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. 

Maintain a strategic raw material forecast in close cooperation with Strategic Procurement. 

Provide technical input and market intelligence to support supplier negotiations and sourcing decisions. 

Identify potential supply risks early and develop mitigation plans (dual sourcing, substitution concepts, qualification pipelines). 

Act as the primary technical interface for raw material suppliers during the product development phase. 

Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships to enable joint innovation initiatives and technical development projects. 

Provide internal technical guidance and training on ingredient functionality, trends, sourcing developments, and best practices. 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS: 

M.Sc. (or higher) in Food Chemistry, Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field. 

Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in raw material/ingredient management, ideally in the food, nutraceutical, pharma, or related industries. 

Proven experience in ingredient scouting, supplier qualification, and technical evaluation/validation projects. 

Proficient in English, both spoken and written.  

German would be considered an advantage.
