Required Skills
Job Description
Ocado Technology is putting the world’s retailers online using the cloud, robotics, AI, and IoT. We develop the innovative software and systems that power Ocado.com, the world’s largest online-only grocery retailer as well as the global ‘Ocado Smart Platform’. With everything from websites to fully autonomous warehouses that we design in-house, our employees use a wide range of technologies to help drive our business.
What We Do
In Sofia, our Machine Learning & Robotics team is breaking new ground in robot control, computer vision, and reinforcement learning. We're building one of the world’s fastest, most reliable, and human-like robotic picking systems—powered by large-scale data collection and annotation. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented to take full ownership of our SKU lifecycle. From the moment a product image arrives to the day it is delisted, you will be the gatekeeper of quality and performance. We need a proactive problem-solver who can manage thousands of assets, spot trends in SKU data, and work cross-functionally to ensure our digital storefront is always optimized for growth.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Range Service Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining a high-quality, well-structured, and visually accurate product database. Your mission is to manage the lifecycle of thousands of SKUs—ensuring they are accurately categorized, monitored for performance, and optimized for robotic handling. This is a cross-functional role requiring a blend of analytical thinking and an eye for high-quality visual content.
• Analyze product metrics (e.g. success/error rates, speed, etc) to ensure the product list aligns with operational goals.
• Continuously refine the "Enabled Products" list by identifying and removing low-performing items to maximize robotic efficiency.
• Evaluate new candidate items for range expansion - estimating operational impact, pick complexity, and contribution to throughput.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, and supply chain stakeholders to prioritise and enable new items based on technical feasibility and operational demand.
• Present clear, evidence-based findings to stakeholders to help bridge the gap between technical constraints and logistics goals.
• Conduct offline annotation of training data to improve AI algorithms responsible for robotic dexterity.
• Collaborate with the Engineering team to test and provide feedback on internal annotation and range management tools to drive continuous process improvement.
What You Need
Essential Skills:
• English Proficiency: Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English, both written and spoken, to collaborate with diverse teams.
• In-person Collaboration: Primarily on-site at our Sofia office; physical presence is key for teamwork and hands-on coordination with the robotics lab.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high precision when annotating data and managing product lists, ensuring minimal errors in the system.
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to review performance metrics and identify trends to help guide range management and operational improvements.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Working directly with Product and Engineering teams to share operational findings that influence how the system works.
• Time Management: Excellent organizational skills to efficiently manage high volumes of data and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ownership Mentality: A self-starter who takes initiative to identify range inefficiencies and drive solutions end-to-end.
Desirable Skills:
• Tool Proficiency: Comfortable working with spreadsheets, dashboards, and issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira) to manage workflows.
• Basic Technical Aptitude: General familiarity with computer software and hardware, easing the understanding of complex robotic systems.
• Interest in Robotics & AI: Enthusiasm for working in a tech-driven environment and a desire to shape the future of automated retail.
• Adaptability: Willingness to learn new annotation tools and range management processes as technology evolves.
Our Social Benefit Package Includes
• Great remuneration package
• 25 days paid leave
• 24/7 Employee Assistance Program
• Life Insurance
• Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Leave policy
• 150 EUR additional monthly allowance
