AECOM is seeking a Rail Systems Specialist located in Baltimore, Maryland. This role serves as the primary technical bridge between Train Control Engineering  and Maintenance and Operations during a generational train control system modernization. You will ensure that the new state-of-the-art train control system, which includes SSI, ATS, and CBTC, is fully implemented and provide guidance to ensure effective, repeatable field maintenance practices.
Key Responsibilities
•  Engineering-Maintenance Liaison: Act as the central point of contact to ensure design intent aligns with field implementation.
•  Systems SME: Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting support for SSIs, CBTC, ATS, and associated interfaces and subsystems.  Including support for on-board CBTC.  
•  Technical PM: Manage project scopes, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) schedules, and risk assessments to maintain peak uptime and operational performance.
• Asset Readiness: Audit maintenance manuals and identify specialized testing equipment/tooling required, making recommendations to maintenance managers.
• Knowledge Transfer: Conduct technical briefings for maintenance supervisors and "A-Level" technicians on the system upgrades.  Use technical knowledge to enhance operational usage of the new system. 
 
Minimum:
• BA/BS and 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred:
• B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems) or Equivalent Experience.
• 5 years in engineering or equivalent experience, specifically in train control maintenance or commissioning.
• Strong proficiency and experience in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of signaling and train control systems.
• Experienced in leadership, problem-solving, communication, and organization skills to liaise with project, contractor, and maintenance personnel.
• Relocation is an option for this position
