Gong is looking for a highly motivated Engineering Team Lead to join our exceptional R&D organization within the data platform group. This group manages Gong’s data layer and serves as the backbone of our data applications, analytics, and semantic layer, which powers the most data-intensive aspects of Gong’s platform.

You’ll Own:

Team Evolution & Mentorship: Leading and expanding a growing squad of backend and frontend engineers, while coaching and mentoring individuals to reach their full potential.The Roadmap Partnership: Collaborating closely with Product Management to shape the team’s roadmap, ensuring a perfect balance between product milestones and engineering health.Hiring & Talent: Driving the hiring process to bring in top-tier talent and ensuring the successful onboarding and growth of new team members.

You’ll Solve:

Architectural Complexity: Designing and architecting long-term technical solutions that handle the demands of a wide-scale enterprise platform.Priority Balancing: Navigating the tension between high-velocity product delivery and the continuous optimization of core application infrastructure.Process Bottlenecks: Leading by example to identify and resolve inefficiencies in the development lifecycle, driving continuous improvement across the team.

Platform & Customer Success: Delivering high-impact technical solutions that directly improve the experience for Gong’s global customer base.Engineering Excellence: Setting the bar for coding standards, architectural integrity, and infrastructure reliability across the organization.Cultural Growth: Building a high-performing, empowered team culture that scales alongside the company’s ambitious growth goals.

How You’ll Succeed Here:

• An experienced team leader (4+ years managing people) with a hands-on approach.

• A software development veteran with 10+ years of industry experience, focusing on large-scale, cloud-based technologies.

• Proficiency in Java and related frameworks (advantage).

• Experience with user-facing products and UI development (advantage).

• Holding a degree in computer science or a similar field (preferred).

• Most importantly, A passion for motivating, mentoring, and developing team members
