Job Description:

This is a key R&D position within the Product Development Team with a focus on the development and improvement of new or current products and processes, improving formulations and investigation of optimization opportunities for internal and external Schreiber customers in Europe. Explores innovative technologies that support strategic initiatives and business objectives. Projects can include new product development, optimization of existing portfolio, ingredient and supplier changes, improvement projects, and others as deemed necessary across different product categories and locations throughout Europe.

Role & Responsibilities:

Leads the development of new products and processes and implements the use of new ingredients and technologies to improve efficiency, sales, and profitability to Schreiber Foods. Work in production and pilot plant locations. Develop defined work plans, conduct experiments, writes reports, and has a comprehensive understanding of the department procedures. Effectively handles pressures that may come from customers, suppliers, partners and management.

Applies an understanding of Schreiber Foods' core and future products and process categories while working with partners in different parts of the organization to solve problems and improve quality. Works collaboratively within the R&D department and product development team to find opportunities, understand processes and test new experiments and ideas.

Develops a good understanding of Schreiber Foods philosophies, processes and systems and uses this knowledge to meet customer requirements; works to establish a network within Schreiber Foods to effectively get projects completed; maintains good understanding of the food industry and competitors that impact Schreiber Foods; maintains a network of key contacts within the industry.

Has a good understanding of regulatory standards, labeling issues, and practices.

Exercise excellent listening and communication skills, such as conveying technical concepts to others, writing detailed technical reports, and effectively conducting presentations to inform and influence decisions of others.

Become skilled in new ingredient and formula set-up by developing specifications, plant procedures, and formula guidelines. Plan and conduct scale-up trials for product development. Commercialize newly developed prototypes, and achieve technological breakthroughs.

Key Ingredients:

Bachelor's Degree in Research & Development, Foods Science, Chemistry or related field

1 to 3 years of experience in Dairy products, cultured products, ingredient functionality, product development and formulations.

History of leading successful new product development projects from concept to implementation and commercial sale

Highly self-directed candidate who is results orientated, customer focused, possesses strong technical knowledge, and project management skills.

Works well independently and with a team.

Strong analytical and dairy component understanding.

Work environment will include office setting, pilot plant, and production plant.

In addition, the candidate may need to go to a production facility that has stairs or steps.

Desire to grow and take on new challenges and opportunities.

Possesses appropriate job level.
