About the role:

To start, the role of the Sensory Science Intern is situated within the Research and Development department. This department constitutes a highly diverse team, fostering a collaborative environment dedicated to mutual learning, growth, and development—a dynamic ethos that aligns with our values. As a member of the Sensory Science workstream, responsibilities include conducting a broad spectrum of sensory and consumer science studies for product such as coffee mixes, instant products, tea, and cereal blends.

Your role entails providing crucial support to the team in conceptualizing and executing key innovations and renovations. Beyond requiring domain expertise, we emphasize the significance of strong interpersonal skills and a drive for success. Your contribution will play a role in establishing and protecting the impact we aspire to achieve within our value chain.

Throughout the internship, you will have the opportunity to engage with the wider R&D community and potentially collaborate with other functions, such as marketing and operations. It is important to note that some local travel may be required as part of your responsibilities.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Ownership of assigned project(s) within the R & D department• From the design and approach of the project up to the summary and recommendations based on findings.
• To present findings back to relevant stakeholders

• Organize and execute formal sensory testings
• Support in setting up and training of QDA panel
• Support set up and briefing of sensory and consumer studies
•  Support in recruitment and maintenance of Discrimination panel within JDE
• Conduct sensory tests and analyse data using various statistical tools and sensory software
• Support and lead development projects with the support of line manager
• Collaborate and support with team members in day to day
• Support in coffee tastings
• Support other R&D projects not directly related to Sensory function
