Quarry Loader Operator

Responsibilities:

Prioritize and maintain a strong safety culture at all times

Operate and monitor equipment including cone crushers, jaw crushers, screen plants, conveyors, and hoppers.

Load customer trucks with accuracy and efficiency while maintaining proper weight distribution

Safely and effectively operate loaders and haul trucks to move and manage aggregate materials

Build and maintain stockpiles in accordance with company procedures

Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections; promptly report any mechanical issues

Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed

Adhere to MSHA regulations and company policies

Communicate clearly with fellow team members, dispatchers, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow

Take initiative and work independently or as part of a team

Actively participate in fostering a quality control culture to meet and exceed the expected standards.

Perform additional tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications:

Proven commitment to workplace safety and safety compliance

Experience operating quarry equipment, including loaders, haul trucks, crushers, and conveyors

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues

Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and overtime as needed

Must pass a drug screening and comply with a substance-free workplace policy

Previous experience in a quarry or similar heavy equipment environment preferred

Physical Requirements:

Heights: Ability to climb and work safely at heights exceeding 10 feet.

Climbing: Must be physically capable of safely climbing in and out of equipment that is greater than 10 feet off the ground on uneven terrain multiple times daily.

Balance: Must maintain stability while standing and walking on potentially slick or uneven surfaces, sometimes while carrying equipment or materials.

Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions.

Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions.

Awkward positions: Ability to transition between sitting, standing, and kneeling on the ground as required.

Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and maneuver awkward parts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

Conditions: Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Must be adaptable to changing environmental factors and the demands of an active quarry operation.
