Anyon Systems is a quantum computing company in the Greater Montreal Region. We work at the cutting edge of technology to develop and commercialize quantum computing solutions. The company is rapidly growing and has both hardware and software teams to achieve its R&D goals.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Quantum Nanofabrication Engineer to join our team in Waterloo, Ontario. You will work closely with engineers and scientists dedicated to fabricating superconducting quantum processors. You will collaborate with our quantum design team in Montreal and our other Nanofabrication site in Bromont. This role requires strong expertise in cleanroom processes, critical thinking, and a meticulous approach to documentation to develop reliable and novel nanofabrication processes.

Responsibilities:

Develop, characterize, optimize, and improve nanofabrication processes.

Fabricate and characterize high-quality superconducting quantum chips.

Manage cleanroom equipment and supplies.

Produce documentation related to nanofabrication processes.

What We Expect From You:

Hands-on expertise in top-down nanofabrication techniques.

Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.

Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Attention to detail and meticulous documentation habits.

Qualifications:

Graduate degree in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.

3+ years of experience in top-down nanofabrication.

Hands-on expertise in one or more of the following: E-beam lithography, chip packaging, 3D integration.

Extensive experience in: photolithography, laser writing, plasma etching, wet etching, thin film deposition (metal/dielectric), wirebonding, SEM, AFM, electrical testing, etc.

Familiarity with cleanroom safety and hazardous materials handling protocols.

Experience with superconducting materials or circuits is an asset.

Skills:

Initiative, strong critical thinking, solution-oriented mindset.

Adaptable to a fast-moving R&D environment.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Fluency in English; French is an asset.

Développer, caractériser, optimiser et améliorer les processus de nanofabrication.

Fabriquer et caractériser des puces quantiques supraconductrices de haute qualité.

Gérer l’équipement et les outils en salle blanche.

Produire la documentation liée aux processus de nanofabrication.

Ce que nous attendons de vous :

Qualifications :

Diplôme supérieur en physique, sciences des matériaux, ingénierie électrique/mécanique ou équivalent.

Plus de 3 ans d’expérience en nanofabrication top-down.

Expertise pratique dans une ou plusieurs des techniques suivantes : lithographie par faisceau d’électrons, encapsulation de puces, intégration 3D.

Expérience dans : photolithographie, lithographie laser, gravure plasma, gravure chimique, dépôt de couches minces (métal/diélectrique), wirebonding, SEM, AFM, tests électriques, etc.

Connaissance des protocoles de sécurité en salle blanche et manipulation de matières dangereuses.

Expérience avec les matériaux ou circuits supraconducteurs est un atout.

Compétences :

Sens de l’initiative, esprit critique et approche orientée solutions.

Capacité à s’adapter à un environnement R&D rapide.

Excellentes compétences en communication et travail en équipe.

Maîtrise de l’anglais, le français est un atout.
