Job Description

Anyon Systems is a quantum computing company located in the Greater Montreal Region and with presence in Waterloo, Ontario. We work at the cutting edge of technology to develop and commercialise superconducting quantum computers. The company is rapidly growing and has both hardware and software groups to achieve its R&D goals.

You will be working within our Quantum Hardware Team, a team of engineers and scientists dedicated to the design, fabrication, and testing of novel superconducting quantum processors. You will collaborate closely with other teams when required. In this role, you will draw on your strong expertise as well as your critical thinking and strong focus on documentation.

Responsibilities

Lead the conceptual design, simulation, and validation of advanced superconducting quantum circuits.

Lead experimental efforts on characterization, calibration, and/or control of quantum devices and processors.

Optimize layout and design workflows using the Anyon Systems toolkit and industry best practices.

Collaborate with R&D, nanofabrication, and systems teams to align hardware development with system-level goals.

Prepare detailed technical documentation, design reports, and contribute to roadmap planning.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 2–5 years of industry experience in quantum hardware or superconducting devices.

Proven track record in developing and validating quantum circuit designs.

Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++, especially in scientific or simulation contexts.

Deep understanding of microwave engineering, quantum optics, and superconducting quantum circuits.

Hands-on experience with nanofabrication processes involving superconducting materials.

Experience with design validation using FEM or equivalent simulation tools.

Responsabilités

Diriger la conception conceptuelle, la simulation et la validation de circuits quantiques supraconducteurs avancés.

Diriger les efforts expérimentaux de caractérisation, de calibration et/ou de contrôle de dispositifs et processeurs quantiques.

Optimiser les flux de travail de conception et de mise en page à l’aide des outils Anyon Systems et des meilleures pratiques de l’industrie.

Collaborer avec les équipes de R-D, de nanofabrication et de systèmes afin d’aligner le développement Hardware avec les objectifs système.

Préparer une documentation technique détaillée, des rapports de conception et contribuer à la planification de la feuille de route.

Qualifications

Doctorat en physique, génie électrique ou domaine connexe, avec 2 à 5 ans d’expérience industrielle en Hardware quantique ou dispositifs supraconducteurs.

Expérience démontrée dans le développement et la validation de conceptions de circuits quantiques.

Excellente maîtrise de Python et/ou C++, notamment dans des contextes scientifiques ou de simulation.

Solide compréhension de l’ingénierie micro-ondes, de l’optique quantique et des circuits quantiques supraconducteurs.

Expérience pratique des procédés de nanofabrication impliquant des matériaux supraconducteurs.

Expérience en validation de conception à l’aide d’outils de simulation FEM ou équivalents.

Compétences clés

Leadership en résolution de problèmes techniques et en exécution de projets.

Vision stratégique avec une compréhension systémique de l’informatique quantique.

Excellentes aptitudes en communication et en mentorat; capacité à travailler efficacement entre équipes.
