Job Overview
A leading player in Australia's construction and engineering sectors, is seeking a skilled Estimator (SMP – Structural, Mechanical, Piping) to support their proposals team. This role is key in developing accurate cost estimates and competitive tenders for major projects across the construction, mining, and resource industries.
As part of the team, you'll be responsible for reviewing tender documents, preparing BOQs, performing material take-offs, calculating labor and equipment costs, and contributing to construction schedules and methodologies. You'll play a crucial role in project planning, tender submissions, and internal handovers.
Key Responsibilities:
Review tender documents to assess scope, terms, and conditions
Perform material take-offs and labor hour estimations for SMP works
Develop costing spreadsheets and prepare professional tender submissions
Gather competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
Assist with schedule planning and construction methodology
Participate in internal tender reviews and brief project teams on successful bids
Contribute to work claims and project reporting as required
Uphold quality standards and document processes in line with company QA systems
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is desirable
Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating, ideally in construction, mining, or resource industries
Strong knowledge of SMP disciplines and fabrication practices
Experience in preparing BOQs (Bills of Quantities) and conducting accurate MTOs (Material Take-Offs)
Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and Primavera P6
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation
Proven ability to work independently and with international teams
Intermediate to advanced computer skills
Strong leadership and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal English communication
Willing to work in the office full-time at Arcovia City, Brgy. Ugong, Pasig City. (Monday - Friday, morning shift)
