Position: Quantity Surveyor/Estimator
Salary: PHP70,000-PHP79,000/month
Work Schedule: 8:00AM-5:00PM NZ Time
OVERVIEW:
The client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to manage their estimating and cost management function in an online‑based capacity. This role is critical to the commercial success of their projects and supports all operational pillars of the business, from tendering and procurement through to financial reporting and client engagement.
You will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates, managing tender submissions, administering subcontractor and supplier pricing, and maintaining strong commercial control across live projects—all while working remotely as part of a collaborative team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Estimating & Tender Management
• Review RFQs, proposals, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Complete pre‑tender feasibility assessments within 1 working day of RFQ receipt.
• Maintain full oversight of all tenders and quotes to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Submit completed tenders for internal review and approval at least 2 days prior to submission deadlines.
• Capture, assess, and price all scope changes, variations, and plan revisions.
Commercial & Financial Management
• Prepare detailed end‑to‑end project estimates and cost plans.
• Monitor actual project costs and report project margins weekly.
• Provide month‑end project forecasts to support gross margin reporting.
• Prepare payment claims for approval and submission to clients.
• Actively contribute to overall gross margin improvement across projects
Contractor & Supplier Management
• Source and negotiate fixed pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and procurement of specialist materials.
• Review subcontractor payment claims and assess variations.
• Confirm pricing compliance against agreed rates and lead times.
• Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
• Respond to RFQs, PTQs, and clarifications in a professional and timely manner.
• Attend online tender meetings.
• Manage pricing approvals for variations and cost adjustments.
• Represent the business positively in all dealings with clients and stakeholder's.

Sales & Business Support
• Maintain a tender and quote submission database.
• Track accepted and unaccepted tenders and follow up outstanding submissions.
• Provide monthly reporting on tender outcomes and pipeline performance.
Team & Collaboration
• Work closely with the Office Manager, Business Manager, General Manager, and wider office team.
• Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture despite being remote.
• Assist other team members when needed to ensure delivery outcomes.

Authority & Approval Limits
• Pricing over requires General Manager / Business Manager approval.
• Any commitments to subcontractors or suppliers require approval.
• All purchase orders and subcontract arrangements must be authorised.
• Pre‑tender feasibility must be approved before tender acceptance.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator within civil or construction projects; expertise in NZ/AU projects is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of tendering, procurement, and cost control processes.
• Ability to work independently in an online / remote environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in estimating software, project systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
