FHP Manufacturing, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a joint venture between Robert Bosch (BOSCH Group) and Carrier Corporation.
FHP Manufacturing is a leader in the production of geothermal and water source heat pumps, providing some of the most efficient heating and cooling comfort solutions in the industry.
The Quality Inspector & Test Technician supports production by ensuring our products meet quality standards and customer specifications. This role combines inspection, end-of-line testing, troubleshooting, and technical support to maintain production flow and product reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection
• Perform end of line inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain detailed inspection and record findings in system (tablet).
• Identify defects, determine root causes, and collaborate with production teams on corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and industry regulations.
• Monitor production processes and recommend improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Test Technician
• Serve as first point of contact for team leaders and supervisors when end-of-line test issues occur.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions during assembly and end-of-line testing.
• Analyze and interpret test data to diagnose issues and implement corrective solutions.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and update work instructions as needed.
• Communicate effectively with end-of-line operators to ensure daily production targets are met.
Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (compressors, fan motors, valves, condensers, piping, and control devices).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, refrigeration piping schematics, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Demonstrate troubleshooting skills in electrical, electronic, and automated control systems (PLC knowledge preferred).
• Ability to detect subtle defects or non-conformances
• Basic knowledge of Ethernet networking and computer systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• 1-2 yrs experience as a Test Technician (preferably in a manufacturing setting)
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and root cause problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication skills with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift equipment as required.
• Shift hours: 3p-11:30p
