PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership
of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners
Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we
are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term
Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure
development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address
immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largest
airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and
infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of
Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger
experience.
JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector supports the Quality Manager and project teams by
performing field inspections and verification activities across assigned project
areas within the Airfield Electrical & Civil Sub-Program. This role is responsible for
ensuring that materials, installations, and construction activities are completed in
accordance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and project quality
requirements, with a strong focus on compliance with ESA and GTAA standards.
The Quality Inspector plays a key role in identifying deficiencies, documenting nonconformances, and supporting corrective actions to maintain quality and project
integrity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform field inspections of electrical and civil works to verify compliance
with approved drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and project
requirements.
• Inspect materials, equipment, and installations to ensure they meet project
and regulatory quality standards prior to acceptance.
• Review and complete inspection reports, checklists, test records, and
turnover documentation.
• Verify subcontractor work activities and support hold point, witness point,
and final inspections in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Identify deficiencies or non-conforming work and support the issuance,
tracking, and closeout of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Maintain accurate inspection logs, records, and photographic documentation
of field activities.
• Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, engineering, and thirdparty inspectors to ensure timely inspection coverage and issue resolution.
• Participate in quality walkdowns, deficiency reviews, and turnover
inspections.
• Support testing and commissioning activities by confirming readiness and
documentation completeness.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with ESA, GTAA, and project-specific quality
requirements.
• Promote quality awareness and adherence to established QA/QC processes
across the project site.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned by
identifying recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
WORK CONDITIONS
Based at project offices in Mississauga, with frequent visits to airside and terminal
construction zones. Full-time, Monday to Friday, approx. 8:00am–5:00pm (1-hour
lunch or as agreed). RAIC clearance and Criminal Background Check are
mandatory due to airport security requirements.
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES
• Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering Technology, or
equivalent trade certification.
• Journeyperson / Red Seal (Industrial Electrician or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quality inspection, QA/QC, or
construction inspection within industrial, infrastructure, or airport projects.
• Minimum 3 years of Canadian industrial or infrastructure experience, with
familiarity working under ESA requirements.
• Strong understanding of construction inspection processes, quality
documentation, and inspection/testing workflows.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, codes, and technical
documents.
• Experience with ITPs, NCRs, inspection reports, and turnover
documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
• Proficient with MS Office, SharePoint, and/or QMS documentation systems.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work
effectively with field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Experience in airport, transportation, or large infrastructure projects is
considered an asset.
