Job Title: Quality Engineer- API Testing

Location: Bangalore 

Experience: 5-7 years 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer with a strong background in software testing processes, automation, test framework development and application testing. The ideal candidate will have expertise in RESTful API testing and technical proficiency in JavaScript, and related tools. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing API test plans, scripts, and ensuring the overall quality of our applications

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for REST APIs including execute smoke, functional, regression, and integration testing processes

• Design, create, and maintain automated test frameworks using tools like Postman and newman.

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to identify and address API issues.

• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.

• Manage testing processes using GitHub, JIRA, and other DevOps tools.

• Work with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, to manage testing environments.

• Ensure all testing activities are conducted according to established standards and methodologies.

• Contribute to the improvement of the test automation framework and CI/CD pipeline integration.

• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback from a testing perspective.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in API testing and automation

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of experience in API testing, including hands-on experience with REST APIs.

• Proficiency in JavaScript.

• Experience in API testing and API test automation using Postman, Rest Assured

• Experience in functional test creation and test executions.

• Understanding of version control systems (GitHub) and project management tools (JIRA).

• Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.

• Understanding of API lifecycle management and testing methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Experience with other testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Rest Assured).

• Basic understanding of programming languages such as JavaScript or Java.
