Duties and Responsibilities
Quality Control Testing:
Conduct thorough quality control tests on raw materials entering the feed mill.
Perform regular inspections and checks on work in progress and other inputs ( example utilities) and finished feed products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Utilize testing equipment and instruments to assess attributes such as moisture content, particle size, and nutritional composition.
Inputting nutrient profiles for ingredients, feed formulations and verifying the formulas.
Monitoring Production Processes:
Monitor production processes closely to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
Conduct in-process inspections to identify and address any deviations from quality requirements.
Collaborate with operators and production teams to maintain and improve product quality.
Develop QMS program/Maintenance of SOPs and purchasing COA.
Data Recording and Analysis:
Record accurate and detailed data from quality control tests and inspections.
Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement.
Generate reports summarizing quality metrics and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
Collaborate with other departments, including production, operations, maintenance and farms, to address and resolve quality issues.
Participate in cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive measures.
Provide insights to improve processes and prevent quality issues in the future not limited to animal nutrition, breeding or management to improve products and processes.
Any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager or his designate.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Science, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a relevant discipline.
Previous Experience:
Demonstrated experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing setting, preferably in the agricultural, feed, or food industry is preferred.
Familiarity with animal science, nutrition, physiology and livestock production
Familiarity with quality control standards and procedures.
Knowledge of Quality Control Methods:
In-depth knowledge of quality control methods, testing procedures, and relevant industry regulations.
Study or have a strong motivation for improvements in nutritional requirements of animals and nutritive values of animal feed materials.
Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles.
Attention to Detail and Analytical Skills:
Meticulous attention to detail in conducting tests and recording data.
Strong analytical skills to interpret test results and draw meaningful conclusions.
Communication Skills:
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey quality-related information.
Ability to document findings, prepare reports, and communicate insights to relevant stakeholders.
